Patient Wandering System
Life Safety
A patient wandering system consists of a bracelet worn by the resident and a monitor(s) that looks over the protected area. The bracelet transmits a specific code identifying the resident. The monitor looks for these codes and when the resident enters these areas, the monitor can signal alarms and lock down doors in specific areas or exits while the monitor displays the resident's name immediately. The bracelet worn by the patient is comfortable, practical and waterproof. The system can be tied to pocket pagers and has full reporting capabilities through management software.
Consider internal doors fitted with keyless lock systems. Studies find that 30% of business thefts and burglaries are accomplished using a duplicate key. (Unauthorized key duplicates can be made at most retail stores.
